Welcome to Scioto

Forging strategic partnerships with nonprofits.

Scioto has opportunities that provide nonprofits, foundations and grantmakers the opportunity to participate in a social enterprise venture (SEV). A social enterprise is an organization or venture that advances its social mission through entrepreneurial, earned income strategies.

In 2004, Scioto established its first SEV with the Foundation For the Challenged. This arrangement enables the Foundation to fulfill its mission and generate the capital it needs to carry out its mission. The venture was so successful that in 2006, the Foundation established the Community Living Fund as an additional means to help people with disabilities living in the community. For more information on the Community Living Fund visit the Foundation’s website, www.ffcohio.org.

Scioto and the Foundation are members of the Social Enterprise Alliance (SEA). For more information on the SEA, visit their website at www.se-alliance.org.

If you are a nonprofit, foundation or grantmaker and would like further information on how to participate, contact Tim Vogel.
