The
Affordable Housing Program was designed in 2005 in response to the
increasing lack of affordability of room and board cost. Scioto actively
pursues affordable housing that may be available at state and
local levels for home purchases, rent supplements and accessibility
renovations.
Some key benefits of this program are
- Additional means to lower the cost of living in the community
- Access to
resources not previously available
- Coordination
of all grant application and reporting activities.
We
have been tremendously pleased with the working
relationship with Scioto
as we feel that we, including the individuals we support,
have been listened to throughout the process. Any specialized
needs have been
addressed and modifications to the home have been completed
as promised. We greatly appreciate the level of professionalism
and willingness
to fit the home to the specific needs of each person
living there.
